# Are there any rat studies?

I’ve seen a lot of mouse studies here, are there any rat studies here? If not, can I use mouse brain maps and gene expression mapping?

We do not host any rat gene expression data at this time. That said, it is possible to map rat gene expression data to mouse whole brain cell types, with some caveats. See [the step-by-step guide for using MapMyCells](https://portal.brain-map.org/atlases-and-data/bkp/mapmycells/step-by-step-guide) for details on how to do this. Your question is the first FAQ.
