Hello,

I would like to use gene\_matrix\_cvs and perform some analysis using edgR, which requires raw expression matrix.
Is it possible to obtain the gene\_matrix\_cvs in raw counts instead of rpkm?

Kind regards

Hi @Daria. The short answer is we don’t have count data – you can read some more about why [in a related post](https://community.brain-map.org/t/how-gene-level-rpkm-is-calculated-brainspan/614). Raw data for this project is now [available on dbGaP](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/projects/gap/cgi-bin/study.cgi?study_id=phs000755.v2.p1), and you could potentially reproduce it that way.
