# Deconvolution of calcium events

In version 0.16 of `allensdk`, there was a function for deconvolving the calcium trace into spikes:

> BrainObservatoryCache.get\_ophys\_experiment\_events will return calcium events inferred by [FastLZeroSpikeInference](https://github.com/jewellsean/FastLZeroSpikeInference)

I could not find this functionality in the documentation of the current version of `allensdk`. I would be grateful if you could point me to the current way to do it?

Hello Romuald

This [function](https://github.com/AllenInstitute/AllenSDK/blob/master/allensdk/core/brain_observatory_cache.py#L530) that was added in 0.16 retrieves pre-computed calcium imaging events. We have not released the code that was used to compute those values. We are, however, in the process of developing an updated method that will be shared publicly in the next few months.
