Hello everyone
My name is Samuel Lee, and I am a high school student residing in Lexington, MA, attending Lexington High School and particularly drawn to cognitive and computational neuroscience. I am fascinated by the sheer number of open-science resources available here, but as a student just starting out in the field, the volume of data is a bit overwhelming.
I would love to introduce myself to the community and ask for some guidance. My current goal in the field is to understand how researchers use the Allen Institute’s open datasets to study music-induced neuroplasticity. As an avid violinist with over 11+ years of musical training, I have become particularly drawn to cognitive neuroscience, and music-induced neuroplasticity, specifically how long-term musical activity can influence mechanisms of cellular signaling and gene regulation in neurons, and how these biological processes contribute to structural and functional modifications in the brain.
Given my background, could anyone recommend the best entry-level datasets, documentation, or Python-based notebooks to start exploring these tools? I am really eagar to learn how to navigate how to utilize the platform effectively.
Thank you for your time and help!
Best regards,
Samuel Lee
