Spatial organisation of mean waveforms in visual coding and visual behaviour datasets

Dear Allen Institute Team,

I have been working with the visual behaviour dataset’s mean_waveforms. I was wondering if you could confirm the spatial organisation of the channels in the arrays - are the channels organised in order from most dorsal to ventral, or vice-versa? I was not able to successfuly search for this information.

data = local_cache.get_ecephys_session(ecephys_session_id=session_id)
 session_mean_waveforms = data.mean_waveforms

Best Regards

The channel with index 0 is always closest to the probe tip, so more ventral. Since all of the recordings are in the Neuropixels probe configuration with the bottom 384 channels selected, the channel locations range from 0 microns to 3840 microns, with even and odd channels at the same depth.
