Subclass definition, 052 Pvalb Gaba

Hi. Not sure if this is the right place for this question, please redirect me if so.

In the cortical Pvalb population, Chandelier cells are named specifically (051 Pvalb chandelier Gaba), but basket cells are not. I refer to the subclass 052 Pvalb Gaba as basket cells in my manuscript, but it is never defined as basket cells in your 2023 paper or the MapMyCells docs. My question is, should I avoid calling them basket cells? Does 052 represent more, obscure types of non-chandelier Pv cells?

Hi,

In the 10x whole mouse data, the 051 Pvalb chandelier (3.5k cells) express the chandelier marker gene “Vipr2” (Shared and distinct transcriptomic cell types across neocortical areas | Nature) while the 052 Pvalb Gaba (42k cells) subclass contains the rest of the cortical Pvalb cells (07 CTX-MGE GABA class). Note that morphological reconstructions were not part of these data, despite the term “chandelier” being used.
