Online bioinformatics masters?

Hi everyone,

I’m a 25 year old project coordinator and RA at a biotech company and recently got a full-time conversion that includes tuition assistance. My background is biochemistry and molecular biology and I’m thinking of moving towards bioinformatics to get some coding skills and maybe move into the data field. I get the tuition assistance under the condition I’m employed obviously, so I’m noticing there are a good amount of online bioinformatics degrees out there. That being said, they all look very expensive, some of the one’s I’m considering are northeastern, johns hopkins, NYU, etc. I’m wondering if anyone has taken the courses online and been able to find a job in the field afterwards? Would you miss out on in-person networking or job opportunities if you can’t even meet the professors?

Want to know some honest opinions before rolling the dice, thank you
