I want to analyze the fpkm data for a few genes between dementia individuals compare to controls using the aging-dementia-tbi data. When I display the online differential search heatmap, all the genes have a significant p-value even if the fold change is 1.00. What test has been used for this differential analysis? I’m not sure to understand want have been done here, the results seem surprising to me.
Thank you for your help,
Mélissa
Hi @MelissaLB ,
I am not seeing the significant P-value issue that you mention. For example, the default view comparison of dementia vs. no dementia in hippocampus shows no significant genes (below). As for what test is used, I’m not sure. I think it is a T-test (or a similar basic but statistically sound metric), but can follow-up if necessary. Can you provide a screen shot and/or link if you are seeing something different?
Best,
Jeremy
I guess I did not look at the right groups as I’m not able to recreate my issue… As for the test used, I guess this is right to assume that t-test or wilcoxon was used?
Thanks for your response
