Alignment of Neuropixel action potentials prior to averaging

Hello,
Many thanks for the awesome datasets!
I am curious, in the neuropixel dataset how the action potential waveforms of putative individual cells were aligned prior to averaging? Some align to max slope, others threshold, still others trough of AP; but we don’t have access to individual waveforms (correct?) so this may be important.

Hi Eric,

The waveforms are aligned to the AP trough.

You’re correct that the NWB files only contain the mean waveforms. However, the raw data files are available on AWS (https://registry.opendata.aws/allen-brain-observatory/), from which you could pull out the individual waveforms if necessary.
