Functions or models that can fit spike firing rates or local field potential (LFP)

Hello,
I am seeking recommendations for functions or models that can fit spike firing rates or local field potential (LFP) , similar to how the double Gamma function is used for fitting BOLD signals in fMRI studies.

I have attempted to use the double Gamma function to fit normalized spike firing rates in response to flash stimuli at different depths in the Visual Coding - Neuropixels dataset. While fitting the average data from all mice seems feasible, the results are quite poor when applying this method to individual mice.
