Issue selecting cells and exporting data from the Brain Knowledge Platform

I have been using the Brain Knowledge Platform to look at expression data across a few of the available studies, and recently (the last few months) when I select a population of cells in a brain region using the dashed rectangular tool on the top right, aiming to export the data, I see the error below.

Sometimes this works and I can export the data, but mostly I have to refresh the page and try again, which takes me back to the error message.

Has anyone else encountered this error and is there a solution??

Thank you for using the Brain Knowledge Platform, and apologies that you’re running into this issue! Since it sounds like this issue is intermittent, can you provide a bit more information about steps you’re taking that can help us reproduce this error? Some specifics that might be helpful:

  • What browser you’re using
  • A URL that crashes on load, if you’ve got it handy
  • The error message in the developer console of your web browser, if you can access that

Hi Ray,

Thanks for your reply. Sure, I’ve predominantly been working with the MERFISH-C57BL6J-638850 Reconstructed Coordinates and 10x-scRNAseq-Parkinsons-cohort datasets when I’ve seen this error come up.

I’m using Google Chrome and accessing the tool via this link:

I’m not sure how to access the error message in the developer console - happy to try it though if you can advise on how to do this.

Thanks for these additional details! We’ll get started digging in deeper with this info.

To see the error message in the console, once you get an error on the ABC Atlas page, right click anywhere on the screen and select “Inspect” from the pop-up menu. At the top of the menu that appears on the right side of the screen, select the “!” icon as shown in the screenshot

At the bottom of the screen you should see a new menu appear titled “Console” as in this screenshot, along with a detailed error message.

Hi Madhurima, good news - our engineers have found the source of this issue and are working on a fix. I’ll follow up on this post again once that fix has been deployed. Thank you again for your patience and your interest in the ABC Atlas!
