Trouble Download xml file from ISH Differential search results

Hello,

I’m having trouble downloading the xml file and converting/importing it into an excel. When I selected the xml link at the bottom of my results page, download it, and load it into excel, there is no data within the file. Below are the only cells that have any text.

“Attribute: success

Attribute: start_rows

Attribute: num_rows”

Thanks for any advice!

Can you please provide more information (e.g., a link to your search results)? When I run a search (HERE) and click the link on the bottom:

I can load the resulting file into Excel and get something that looks reasonable:

Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for your quick response. Below is the link to my search results. I selected the xml link you have circled to create an xml file, which it seems to do. But when I load it in excel it keeps returning the picture I attached in the first post.

This one also works for me. These are the steps I followed:

  1. Click the XML link. This opens the file in a new tab
  2. Right click in the middle of the page and click “Save page as”. The default is “query.xml”
  3. Open query.xml in Excel. When prompted, check to Open XML “As an XML table” and hit OK
  4. It then opens, and looks like this:

Here is the same table saved as csv if useful:

query.xml.csv (3.0 KB)

This worked! Thank you so much!

Just to note the previous method I used that did not work was (below)

  1. Open excel
  2. Click Data Tab
  3. Click Get Data
  4. Click Get File> From File>From XML
